About in Dew Style
Danette Elizabeth W. is the creative force behind inDEWstyle.com. When she realized her initials spelled dew the pun-gates were opened and couldn't be closed. Much to the dismay of strangers, who felt it too masculine for a little girl, her family shortened her name to simply Dan. So when it came time for her to re-dew her life she went back to her roots. Becoming Dan Elizabeth in her second act of life or maybe this is the third of fourth act—no one's keeping track of the dew-overs.
Dan Elizabeth is a multifaceted individual who has been passionate about storytelling and creativity from a young age. She's a romance author who knows how to tug at your heartstrings, a podcaster who can keep you entertained for hours, a crafter who can transform any mundane object into a work of art, and an astrologer who can provide insight to help navigate life's twists and turns. She has always had a passion for creating things with her hands, whether it's typing out a story or a piece of art. For her, crafting and writing go hand in hand, as they both require patience, creativity, and a willingness to try new things.
The inspiration for her unique perspective and humor comes from her experiences as a forty-something Black woman, the people she's met over the decades, and the many places she's visited. She loves to explore different cultures and try new things, and you can often find these elements in her stories, the insights she provides when podcasting, or her design to update a worn piece of furniture.
As a romance author, Dan Elizabeth W. weaves tales of love that reflect the diversity of human experience. She believes that everyone deserves to see themselves represented in the stories they consume, and her work reflects that commitment to inclusivity. In addition to the contemporary romances she's published under the pen-name Lena Hampton she's expanding into the genres of mystery and fantasy, with a strong romantic element of course.
What makes her story truly inspiring is the fact that she quit her day job to pursue her creative passions full-time. It wasn't an easy decision, but she knew deep down that she couldn't keep living a life that didn't fulfill her. So, after years of balancing her creative pursuits with a demanding day job, she took a leap of faith. She shares her insights on this journey on her podcast DEW Tell as well as exploring topics ranging from entertainment news to spirituality. It is her hope that in sharing her story she will empower others to pursue their passions and embrace their creativity, no matter where they are in life.
While some may see her as a Jill of all trades and master of none, she knows that her diverse skill set is what sets her apart in a crowded creative landscape. So, whether you're looking for a steamy romance novel to curl up with, a fascinating podcast to listen to on your morning commute, a unique piece of upcycled décor, or some guidance from the stars above, Dan Elizabeth has got you covered.
